Every once in a while a book comes along that is difficult to put down. Such is the case with A Sword for the Immerland King by F.W. Faller.

King Sandihar of Immerland requests a sword to be made by the smith at Shiloh Forge for his 50th birthday. When the smith refuses his request he is imprisoned in a tower in the castle. The resulting series of events affects Immerland, the surrounding regions and all of the people who live here.

Set in the fictional place of Tessalindria, A Sword for the Immerland King is a wonderful story that contains several fascinating characters and a very interesting, and often surprising, plot. Faller effectively develops the characters throughout the book. A Sword for the Immerland King has many of the ingredients for a classic story including good versus evil as well as the common fault of many humans – the quest for power and control at any cost.
